Plus, there are some people out there who get anxious at photos, don’t like how their smile looks, or simply don’t like being the centre of attention.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and most people want photos to capture the day. I say most, because not all (we didn’t have an official photographer at our wedding as my husband hates having his photo taken).
If you have booked a photographer and you are concerned that one of you is not a “smiler”, firstly know this is not unusual. However, if you are working with a good photographer (I’ve met loads, ask me if you need recommendations) 🥰 it will be fine.
Smiling for your wedding photos is of course the best way to convey the joy you your wedding day, so how do you handle this if one of you has difficulty smiling for the camera? 😲
📸Some people just cannot smile, and when they try the look like they have wind or are smirking. So firstly consider the type of photo you want – formal and posed, or natural? Natural shots can really bring out the best in any non smiler when they don’t realise they are being watched.
📸No one wants to feel anxious on their wedding day, so perhaps allocate a photo slot, let your photographer know what shots you want (that you have already agreed on) and relax knowing you only have 15-30-45 mins that you need to work on your smile then the rest of the day is stress free.
📸Nerves can hinder a cheesy grin, so how about asking a friends to take the “money shots” if you feel that this would make you more relaxed, and let the official photographer work behind the scenes.
Whatever the case may be, chat to photographers about your worries, so they can work with you to capture your day as best a possible.
