Choosing a Celebrant

Oh. Did I go a bit WW overboard on a recent Wedding Intro Call? Hadn’t twigged when I grabbed my cup of tea… 🤣 But turns out they like WW so, it created a bond!

BUT when choosing a wedding celebrant, I totally recommend that it is based on personality, (as well as rates / willingness to be bespoke etc) as you need to be as comfortable as you can on your big day!

Your vibe will dictate how the ceremony is written,

So, how to choose a wedding celebrant, perhaps consider the following:

💗Communication style: Look for a celebrant who has a clear and engaging speaking style. They will be speaking to you and your loved ones on your special day after all.
💗Empathy: Choose someone who shows genuine interest in your story and life, did they ask questions? They will be writing a story about you so you want to know they are happy to be a bit nosey 😉
💗Sense of humour: If you do not want formal (and I suspect that is the case), consider a celebrant who can bring a light-hearted and joyful tone to your celebration. For me, final sign off ALWAYS lies with the couple, so we can certainly add in anything they want along the way
💗Open-mindedness: Look for a celebrant who is respectful of different beliefs and lifestyles. This is your wedding, and you want to make sure you are 100% represented. For me love is love. End of.
💗Organization: Choose a celebrant who is well-organized and can keep the ceremony running smoothly. Erm, you know my day job right? 😉

When doing your planning, it’s important to meet with potential celebrants face to face, whether that be in person or via video message. This gives you a chance to get a feel for their personality and make sure they align with your vision for your celebration.
